Since 1874, in the heart of the Maipo valley, Viña Tarapacá has been crafting unique wines of outstanding quality. These estate bottled wines earned their first award in the US in 1876, and have been obtaining awards ever since.
In order to celebrate 140 years of Viña Tarapacá – renowned for its extensive, noble history – the emblematic Gran Reserva Tarapacá brand has launched a limited edition.
This blend crafted with the finest 140 barrels, carefully selected in 2014 –the year of its anniversary. Today, after two years, it is unveiled internationally.
The Gran Reserva Tarapacá Special Edition boasts a unique blend of the best reds from the fertile Maipo Valley.
Intense-red in color with a fruity, concentrated, lively nose, the wine has ripe black-fruit notes such as sarsaparilla and cassis. On the palate, it is firm, smooth, velvety and delicate as a result of 16 months aging in French oak barrels.
“The minerality of the valley’s volcanic soil ensures the wine has a flavorsome palate, with good balance and persistence”, observes winemaker Sebastián Ruiz.
The blend, which commemorates Viña Tarapacá’s anniversary, will soon be available in its respective markets.
