Since 1874, in the heart of the Maipo valley, Viña Tarapacá has been crafting unique wines of outstanding quality. These estate bottled wines earned their first award in the US in 1876, and have been obtaining awards ever since.
Over the two weeks spent in Europe, Ruiz met up with journalists and experts of the trade, in order to demonstrate the latest releases from The Gran Reserva range.
The first stop was in Denmark, where he visited several specialist shops in order to understand the portfolio’s positioning in the country, whilst also taking part in several Wine Dinners with clients.
The second stop was London, UK where the objective was to carry out several tasting sessions for sales forces. The importer, Direct Wines, was also present as well as the new buyer Davy Zyw, who were fascinated by the winemaker’s presentation and charisma.
A couple of days later, Sebastián presented the portfolio to 35 premium clients of Viña Tarapacá’s importer in the Czech Republic. In this market, the winery currently holds first position in terms of market share in the Chilean wines category.
As the European tour came to a close, he took part in the Mika Viini fair in Helsinki, Finland, which is organized by the importer Altia each year. He participated in two tasting sessions: one for a group of the fair’s customers; and another with industry professionals, who were presented the Gran Reserva White Label in a vertical tasting.
