Since 1874, in the heart of the Maipo valley, Viña Tarapacá has been crafting unique wines of outstanding quality. These estate bottled wines earned their first award in the US in 1876, and have been obtaining awards ever since.
November 2012: The results from the latest Concours Mondial de Bruxelles Chile, which took place between October 8lh and 12th in the city of Concepcion, were recently released.
This is the sixth edition of the national-level competition and this time more than 70 wineries took part in displaying almost 100 wines, sparkling wines, and spirits, which the experts judged during blind tasting sessions.
On this occasion, Vina Tarapaca received the Grande Medaille d’Or (Grand Gold Medal), the most prestigious prize awarded during the contest, for its wine Gran Reserva Etiqueta Negra, vintage 2010, from Maipo Valley.
The Concours Mondial de Bruxelles Chile was established in 2007 as a satellite of the traditional Concours Mondial de Bruxelles, aiming to show off Chilean winemaking regions, valleys, products with designation of origin (D.O.) and their businesses tothe world.
