Since 1874, in the heart of the Maipo valley, Viña Tarapacá has been crafting unique wines of outstanding quality. These estate bottled wines earned their first award in the US in 1876, and have been obtaining awards ever since.
The third version of the Japanese competition managed to bring together 280 judges, comprised of the country’s most distinguished female figures in the industry –amongst those were owners of import companies, sommeliers, critics and wine journalists.
Over 3,000 samples were submitted in the competition this year, where Gran Reserva Etiqueta Azul Blend 2012, Gran Reserva Etiqueta Negra Cabernet Sauvignon 2013, and Gran Reserva Sauvignon Blanc 2014 of Viña Tarapacá were awarded Gold Medal, standing out amongst the 130 wines tasted from our country.
The official prize-giving ceremony for the best wines of each category and the best scores, will take place on the 8th March on the FOODEX JAPAN 2016 global stage –the country’s greatest wine and food exhibition.
