Gran Reserva Tarapacá Etiqueta Negra 2010 receives 91 points in latest report from Wine Advocate

Following his last visit to Chile at the end of August, Luis Gutiérrez –the Spanish critic in charge of tasting wines for Chile, Argentina and Spain for the influential North American magazine: Wine Advocate– published its report, Chile: Don’t Stop Believin’, which includes over 800 tasted wines.
Aiming to taste the latest vintages from the different Chilean wineries, the expert travelled from north to south exploring diverse wine regions. In his article, he emphasized the diversity of characteristics available: “There are vineyards that almost touch the ocean and others are 2,200 meters’ high into the Andes Mountains”.
On this occasion, Gutiérrez was able to taste an old vintage which has become a clear example of the winemaking quality at Viña Tarapacá, a winery with over 140 years of history and tradition.
The Gran Reserva Tarapacá Etiqueta Negra Cabernet Sauvignon 2010 scored excellent 91 points, and was described by the Spanish critic as follows:
“It’s quite complex, attractive and pleasant, with a polished palate, very drinkable. This has evolved quite nicely in bottle. A good example of a mature Cabernet from Maipo”.
