Since 1874, in the heart of the Maipo valley, Viña Tarapacá has been crafting unique wines of outstanding quality. These estate bottled wines earned their first award in the US in 1876, and have been obtaining awards ever since.
London International Wine Challenge June 2012- We are proud to announce that our 2010 Tarapacá Gran Reserva Carménère was awarded a Gold Medal at this year’s London International Wine Challenge, held every year in London.
The main characteristic of this competition is that all the wines are evaluated by a panel of judges in a blind taste test according to grape variety, region, and vintage.
The unique rating process and the quality and experience of the judges makes International Wine Challenge the most recognized and credible competition in its class, product of the rigorous review process for participants.
The jury described the 2010 Tarapacá Gran Reserva Carménère as “a fresh wine with a sweet aroma, notes of fresh berries, well-balanced, has a pleasant body and good acidity”.
The results of the IWC were announced during the London International Wine Fair, held on May 22nd-24th, considered one of the most important events in the wine and spirits calendar.
