Since 1874, in the heart of the Maipo valley, Viña Tarapacá has been crafting unique wines of outstanding quality. These estate bottled wines earned their first award in the US in 1876, and have been obtaining awards ever since.
November 2012: Theresultsfrom the latest ConcoursMondial de Bruxelles Chile,which took place between October 8th and 12th in the city of Concepción, were recently released.
This is the sixth edition of the national-level competition and this time more than 70 wineries took part in displaying almost 100 wines, sparkling wines, and spirits, which the experts judged during blind tasting sessions.
On this occasion,Viña Tarapacáreceived the Grande Medaille d’Or (Grand Gold Medal), the most prestigious prize awarded during the contest, for its wineGran ReservaEtiquetaNegra, vintage 2010,from MaipoValley.
The ConcoursMondialBruxellesChile was established in 2007 as a satellite of the traditional Concours Mondial de Bruxelles, aiming to show off Chilean winemaking regions, valleys, products with designation of origin (D.O.) and their businesses to the world.
